Obstacles to fish passage on the River Trent

River Trent - Cromwell Weir
Cromwell, the first weir situated to the north of Newark on Trent. Has a fish pass which while it looks impressive is probably not working due to faulty design, and is inadequte in that it is not suitable for all species which require passage. A fish counter will be installed on this Fish pass in the Summer of 2008 so that a true assessment can be made of this fish pass.

River Trent - Averham Weir Averham, South of Newark on Trent. Salmon can pass this weir in times of high water, needs a fish pass to accommodate all species.
