Cromwell, the first weir situated to the north of Newark on Trent. Has a fish pass which while it looks impressive is probably not working due to faulty design, and is inadequte in that it is not suitable for all species which require passage. A fish counter will be installed on this Fish pass in the Summer of 2006 so that a true assessment can be made of this fish pass. |

Fiskerton weir at Hazelford is a mighty 7 step weir which stops all fish movement except in flood conditions(right-yes there is a weir under there). Fish ladder on this weir would enable fish to get access to the rest of the River Trent and into the lower reaches of the River Derwent and River Dove, | ![]() |

Marston Gauging weir is used to determine the level of abstraction which can be carried out by Severn Trent for their supply to Foremark reservoir. The abstraction point is below Dovecliffe weir and before the Dove reaches the Trent . You can see the structure from the A38 on the right hand side as you drive towards Burton . | |
